Looking ahead
Cold Spring serves children who will graduate into a world we cannot fully predict. Our responsibility is not simply to introduce students to emerging technology. It is to build strong readers, writers, mathematicians, thinkers, creators, collaborators, and caring human beings who can work independently — and who can use technology thoughtfully to accomplish more.
At Cold Spring, students learn to think independently, build and create with others, direct technology rather than be directed by it, evaluate information, explain and defend their thinking, and take responsibility for what they create.
We are preparing students not merely to use the tools of the future, but to lead with judgment, creativity, kindness, responsibility, and care.

AI cannot replace the knowledge children need to think independently. Reading, writing, mathematics, science, history, the arts, physical education, and social-emotional learning remain the foundation of a Cold Spring education. Students first build understanding, fluency, and productive struggle. Technology is then used intentionally to personalize practice, expand creativity, support inquiry, and help students apply their learning in meaningful ways.

A Two-Part Approach
Every Cold Spring student learns in two connected environments — one that builds core knowledge, and one that puts that knowledge to work.
Foundational Learning
Reading, writing, mathematics, science, history, the arts, physical education, and social-emotional learning — taught with real books, real teachers, real discussion, and time for productive struggle. Students build fluency, understanding, and independent thinking before technology amplifies their work.
Innovation Studios
Robotics, coding, ImagiLabs vibe coding, Suno creative work, and design projects — spaces where students apply what they know, build with others, direct AI as a tool, and take responsibility for what they create.
Protected Learning Time
First drafts, mental math, oral discussion, handwriting, reading aloud, working through a hard problem, and the quiet moments of struggle before understanding — these belong to the child. Teachers are clear when AI is welcome and when it is intentionally set aside so that thinking, memory, and voice can grow.
What students will do
Every project — whether it uses a robot, a paintbrush, or a pencil — moves through these habits of thought. Students stay the authors and the problem-solvers.

Cold Spring is using carefully bounded AI agents that can help prepare, organize, summarize, and draft routine work. Agents never replace teachers, student thinking, judgment, or family relationships.
Humans stay in charge. Every draft is reviewed. Nothing goes out unsigned.

Cold Spring will publish results only after baselines are established, information is reviewed, and the district can provide appropriate context.
